I love celebrating Valentine’s Day with my sons and I thought I’d take the time to write about how we celebrate and tell my boys Happy Valentine’s Day Son!
There’s a special bond between a mother and son and I like to make extra sure my boys know this on Valentine’s Day!

What is Valentine’s Day?
Valentine’s Day is celebrated on February 14th and is a significant holiday celebrating love, romance, and relationships. It’s celebrated almost all around the world and has a long history dating back centuries.
Traditionally, it is celebrated with gifts such as chocolates, flowers, and cards or a romantic dinner. While many think of Valentine’s Day as a couples holiday, it’s always fun to celebrate as a family.
Our Valentines Day Traditions
While I don’t go all out for Valentine’s Day in our home, I do have a few traditions.
I like to decorate their bedroom doors with cut-out paper hearts with one thing I love about them on each heart. I start this on the 1st day of February and end on February 14th so they’ll have a total of 14 hearts. I add one heart each day. My sons think the hearts on their doors are kind of cheesy but I know they secretly like them as I see them smile as they read them! I got the idea from Laguna Lane here!
I usually grab a happy Valentine’s Day son card and a small box of chocolates which I set out before I go to bed so they have a little surprise.
I also like to make a special breakfast on Valentine’s Day as well. My favorite is chocolate and strawberry-covered homemade waffles.
As it’s extremely rare for my husband and me to have a date night, we usually make a special dinner for the whole family. We all love seafood so seafood pasta or our favorite cedar-planked salmon are favorites for our Valentine’s Day Dinner.
To My Son – Happy Valentine’s Day Son
I wish all of my boys, “Happy Valentine’s Day, Son!” You are each unique and special to me and will always live in my heart.
I wish you the best in life and hope you achieve all of your dreams.
You are kind, considerate, and oh-so-smart!
Although you are the source of chaos in my life, I can’t imagine it any other way and I wouldn’t want it any other way.
You are my heart.
We are all so proud of all you do and how hard you work to achieve your dreams!
