We love books around here! I include them in our unit studies, the kids’ bedside baskets, and of course for read-aloud! For our bedtime stories, I like to include things for upcoming holidays or the season! Check out our favorite Valentine’s Day books!

I’m a huge fan of bedtime stories for kids! I read to my older boys every night before bed until they were at least 10 and sometimes if they’re around and interested they’ll join the twins and me even now!
I like to choose holiday-themed and seasonal books for our bedtime story time and let the twins each pick one book for me to read. This allows us to learn the history of various holidays, seasonal-related science, and other fun things in a light-hearted way.
Bedtime stories are also a great time for bonding and allow the kids a little time to unwind from the day. It’s also a great screen-free activity before bed!
Sometimes they’ll read to me but most times I read to them. There are so many benefits to reading aloud to children including increased vocabulary and general knowledge.

Books Cost MONEY!
Yup, books cost money and I have WAY more books than I should! However, most of these books can be found at your local library! I’m a huge supporter of local libraries. We visit at least weekly if not more!
Don’t hesitate to ask your librarian if she can fill a list for you and print this page and take it in.
My library has an online system that I can type book information into and then place a hold on it. It also pulls books from all the libraries in our area and then they deliver them to my local library and I just pick them up! Definitely, a win-win since I sometimes don’t want to drag the twins in with me!
I do, however, love adding to our personal home library. Consider adding a book to your Valentine’s Day gifts.

I absolutely love this! I have a one-year-old niece, and she’s the first baby in my immediate family. It’s been fun buying different books for her because she loves looking at them. I’m going to send her the Llama llama I love You book from your list, for Valentine’s Day! Thanks for sharing. 🙂
