Method
Again this pizza dough doesn’t require any kneading but it does take some time to rise.
In a large bowl, add the warm water, sugar, and salt. Stir to combine then add the dry yeast on top of the water. Allow the mixture to sit fora. few minutes until the yeast blooms or becomes bubbly and active.
Once the yeast is active, stir in the olive oil. Then gradually stir in the flour using a wooden spoon or your hands.
Mix just until the dough is slightly wet and a sticky dough forms.
Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and allow the dough to rest for at least 2-3 hours or until it doubles in size. I like to place mine in a warm place such as the top of the fridge or inside the oven with just the light on.
Once the dough has risen or doubled in size, sprinkle some flour onto a clean work surface and lightly coat your hands with flour. Drop the dough onto the prepared work surface and gently work the flour into the dough.
Divide the dough into 4 pieces and form into balls. Cover and allow the balls of dough to rest and rise for about 30 minutes.
After the 2nd rise, lightly oil a work surface and gently roll out dough balls with a rolling pin or use your hands, for a more rustic look. Each pizza should be about 10 inches in size.
To use no knead pizza dough, preheat your oven to 450°F. Line two large rimmed cookie sheets with a piece of parchment paper and lightly sprinkle with flour. Transfer the pizzas to the prepared cookie sheets, top with your favorite toppings, and bake for 8-12 minutes or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted. You may need to bake in two batches depending on your oven, however, if you can fit two cookie sheets in your oven be sure to rotate them about halfway through cooking.
Serve with a side salad, garlic bread sticks or any of these delicious Italian sides!
