These Spider Cake Ball Halloween Treats are cute, spooky, and perfect for kids’ parties or classroom celebrations. Made with cake mix, frosting, and candy melts, they’re an easy Halloween dessert everyone will love.
Preheat the oven to 350°F and grease a 13x9 baking dish.
In a large bowl, combine the cake mix, water, oil, and eggs. Mix until smooth and well combined.
1 box vanilla cake mix, 1 cup water, ⅔ cup oil, 2 eggs
Pour the batter into the prepared dish and bake for 28 to 30 minutes, or until the center is set and the top is golden.
Let the cake cool completely, then crumble it into fine pieces.
Stir in the vanilla icing until the mixture comes together and can be shaped.

Scoop out tablespoon-sized portions, roll them into balls, and place on a parchment-lined tray. Refrigerate or freeze until firm.
Melt the white candy melts until smooth. Dip each cake ball into the coating, let the excess drip off, and place them back on the tray to set.

Melt the black candy melts and transfer them to a piping bag. Pipe a small head, a larger round body, and eight legs onto each cake ball to create spiders.
